Il Didrammo

L'Associazione Culturale IL DIDRAMMO si costituisce ufficialmente nel settembre 1999 grazie ad un gruppo di professionisti che per passione e amore della propria terra, intendono "non far disperdere nella memoria l'enorme patrimonio artistico, storico, culturale della nostra terra, per conservarlo e tramandarlo alle generazioni future...(art. 4 Statuto Associazione).
In particolare, l'Associazione, coltiva una singolare vocazione, quella di preservare la "memoria" attraverso la fotografia, valorizzando questa particolare avventura culturale dello "sguardo" che ha consentito e consente di rinnovare costantemente le presenze e le testimonianze.
Da questo impegno singolare l'Associazione ha fatto nascere nel 2001, come sua articolazione, il Centro Provinciale per il Restauro e la Conservazione della Fotografia, che diventerà poi il MuDiF, Museo Didattico della Fotografia, riconosciuto, nel 2008, dalla Giunta regionale della Campania.
A marzo 2011, la sede operativa si sposta nel Convento dei Cappuccini a Montesano sulla Marcellana (Sa) e nei primi mesi del 2012 si apre una seconda sede a Sarno, presso l'ex convento di S. Domenico a Terravecchia.
Come recita l'art. 4 dello statuto, l'Associazione Culturale IL DIDRAMMO:
ha lo scopo di promuovere attività al fine di:


  • documentare lo sviluppo, i mutamenti e gli eventi del territorio;
  • raccogliere, riordinare, archiviare e rendere disponibile per la consultazione, lo studio e l'esposizione i materiali, i reperti fotografici e documentali riguardanti l'agro nocerino sarnese;
  • promuovere direttamente e/o sostenere ogni iniziativa intesa a conoscere e a far conoscere la storia, la cultura, la società e l'economia del territorio;
  • promuovere direttamente e/o sostenere iniziative per la custodia, la tutela e la valorizzazione dei beni culturali ambientali ed architettonici anche con riferimento ai beni culturali ecclesiastici;
  • inventariare e catalogare beni artistici, storici, ambientali;
  • gestire archivi, biblioteche, musei;
  • svolgere attività in conto proprio o conto terzi nell'ambito dell'attività formativa per la promozione, tutela e salvaguardia dei beni culturali e per le attività di animazione sociale e culturale sul territorio."

THE MUDIF

The Didactic Museum of Fotography

The MuDiF - Didactic Museum of Photography -  represents the natural development of the project pursued by the cultural association IL DIDRAMMO.
The MuDiF is not intended to be only a mere exhibition centre, but also an opportunity to come into contact with documents and artifacts, and to experience an informative journey concerning the History of Photography,  photographic techniques and so on.
Visitors and Internet users will benefit from all the services provided by the Museum: the restoration workshops, digitalizing, cataloguing and archiving labs, photographic developing and printing workshops, the historic photographic archive, the specialized library, the didactic services.

THE HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHIC ARCHIVE

The constantly growing heritage of the Museum documents the numerous events from the historic past such as the economic and industrial civil history, the urban and rural developments and transformations, the social evolutions of the region.
The archive stores original photographic testimonies concerning the complex relations among culture, architecture, economy, environment, national and international events.
The huge amount of historical material collected in the photographic archive covers a time frame from the early years of the discovery of Photography up to the present day.
 A duly air-conditioned and climatically controlled special area keeps approximately 85.000 phototypes such as: daguerreotypes,  ambrotypes, tintypes, aristotypes, albumen prints, b/w diapositives on silver bromide gel, negatives on silver bromide gel, cellulose nitrate negative films, collotypes, negative and invertible colour  materials, album, postcards, photographic items and equipment.

DIGITALIZING, CATALOGUING

The MuDiF is an accredited corporation of  the ICCD- Central Institute for  the Catalogue and the Documentation (Esc AI189).
The laboratory is equipped with modern devices that allow the scanning of all formats of negatives (glass, plastic, paper) and provides the digitalizing of the phototypes according to the ministerial standards of the ICCD.
Furthermore, the Museum also carries out campaigns for the cataloguing of photographic artifacts on the ministerial operating system SIGECWEB.
The lab is registered in the experimentation program according the new ministerial norms.

RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION

The lab also works for corporations, libraries, museums, industries, foundations and independent organizations.
The materials used for the preservation of the phototypes are in compliance with the ISO regulations and are provided with the certification of the Photographic Activity Test (PAT).
